Mission of Camp Isla™ and BGDG Conference

To create diverse and equitable opportunities for participants participating in Gymnastics, Circus, and other forms of Athletics. Our goal is to expose campers to advanced opportunities through education, sports and the arts by providing training by experts in the industry.

BGDG Conference vs Camp Isla™

Camp Isla™ is a High Performance Camp for levels 6-10. As coaches, be sure to challenge the gymnasts while being supportive and encouraging.

Annual BGDG Conference is not a training camp. Gymnasts should always be challenged, but the goal is for the gymnasts to form lifelong friendships and camaraderie amongst their Brown Girl peers.

Summer 2023

We had an amazing pool of coaches to choose from for this Summer's Camp Isla™ and Conference . It was difficult and also heartfelt to see how many coaches want to support BGDG and our Brown Girls.

We have assigned coaches for Camp Isla™ NC A&T and Camp Isla™ Birmingham. However, we are still accepting applications for our Annual BGDG Conference.

There are several ways to help at Conference.

• Conference Coach (must have attended Conference or Camp Isla™ in the past.)

• Exhibition Gymnast (Super fun exhibition with current and former collegiate/upper level gymnasts)

• Conference Clinician/Facilitator (Provide workshop for parents and adult figures)

• Volunteer Coaches

• NAWGJ Judge (to judge the Isla™ Invitational - a fun, invitation only, sanctioned competition Saturday, July 22, 2023)
